Dr. Broadstone- hard to understand accent. begins with the definition of insanity (same thing over yada yada) okaaaay..
so, i explain want tighter control (A1C was 8.6 at doc's) & i also want to eat what i want to eat and inject enough to cover. Also cannot schedule meals at job (lab). . and many times end up working straight through no break. doesn't believe me. First sign that this may be hoop jumping waste-o-time on my part.
Snide remarks- yo're the only one that can do your job? aren't you a team? ... let's see each area is specialized, with limited personnel, soooo yes! If i am in BB and say .. need to irradiate. the other 2 avail. in heme don't do BB or can only hand out blood. Or just plain busy in heme/coag. noone comes back to take over . So yes. Or i'm in coag and theres a stat on AT3 and controls are out and troubleshooting is needed. ... yes.
Team? yes, but understaffed so one leaves for break, the work just piles up while she's gone, more stress when coming back with backed up stas (and isn't everything stat and isn't the patient the doc/rn screaming about the only job we have in the whole fucking hospital)
Has me toss ~$100 worth of R insulin - taking 70/30, R- ie "dinosaurs" i ask- hey can i work with because of $$$ and I had just gotten 3 mos del. Not the R - "just get rid of it" , does with the 70/30 at least. and will replace w/ samples. [now i had been taking R until run out, not discard after 30 days (hey, no one ever told me)]
kept insisting will be replacing my freestyle - even after i said no, i will not. testing volume much preferable. but 'theirs is preferred by humana insurance
replaced w/ 4 pen box levemir, 1 pen of novolog - hardly makes up for toss-loss, come back when low on novo and will give a few more. ok.
make next appt. not too impressed here but we'll give it a try...
only diff i'm not giving up my freestyle and will bring in old one touch basic so i can run a correlation between the freestyle and replacement whatever
